Camped in Minot (cont'd)

I'm back as promised, I'm still here camped at the fairgrounds in Minot, ND. Today I had a few things to do, I rotated the tires on the trailer, went to the laundramat and did my laundry (ran into Jason Sides and his crew guys Doug & Finch) and then I caught up on a bunch of paperwork I had been neglecting. I called Gene & Starla to see if they were going anywhere for dinner, but when I called them they were on their way back from having dinner with Paul (he drove Schatz souvenir trailer for the past 3 months and he lives here in Minot).

Camped in Minot

Welcome back, it is Sunday Aug. 22nd at 10:30pm and I'm camped here at the Minot Fairgrounds, just kinda waiting to head back into Canada for next weekends races in Edmonton. Today I got motivated to clean everything, Woody, the Motorhome, and Woody's trailer. It took me about 4 hours out in the hot sun, it was around 95 degrees with no clouds, but I got it done and everything looks good. That means it is going to rain soon, probably when I'm driving up to Edmonton, that is the Malies' Luck.

Made it to Minot

Wow, what a busy 14 days, I finally have enough time to sit down and write. I ended my last blog entry right before the Ironman 55 at I-55 Speedway in Pevely, MO. Right now I'm camped in the pit area of Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND, the home of the "Minot Missle" Donny Schatz. I arrived today Aug 19th around 4:30pm and attended the Meet & Greet at the Sleep Inn, SLS tries there best to make their 2 day events just that, an event. They have these Meet & Greets and pit parties, something I wish all the traveling teams would attend, that way we might be able to attract more fans to the races.

Almost to Pevely

See, I can keep my word, sometimes. As promised, the rest of the story. Selena and I are camped at the huge Village Square Mall in Effingham, IL. When I say huge, it is massively small, it should be called a 6 store strip mall, but hey it does have a JC Penny, we came here because it has the only movie theater in town, I didn't realize Effingham was such a small town. We did go see the movie "Grown Ups" with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, & David Spade. It was pretty funny, I'm glad the tickets only cost $6.25.

On my way to the Ironman 55

Welcome back, I know it has been about 2 weeks since my last entry, but it has been a crazy couple of weeks of great racing, huge stress, and a bunch of driving. I finally have a chance to sit down and write for a while. I am writing this entry from the WalMart in Madison, OH, it is Wednesday Aug. 4th around 10pm, Selena and I are watching Shark week on the Discovery Channel. We just watched "So You Think You Can Dance", the final 4 episode, again Kent and Loren did great but Robert stepped up to the challenge and out danced both of them.

Williams Grove National Open up next

Welcome back, right now I am writing this from Williams Grove Speedway camped out in my usual location out by the pit gate entrance. It is Thursday night at 10pm and Selena & I are watching "Big Brother" on the DVR, still don't have a favorite, but the quiet one "Lane", is keeping a low profile and I like the way he is playing the game right now. Later we are going to watch the results show from "So You Think You Can Dance", after watching last nights show, Kent and Lauren are still the best dancers and Lauren is still my favorite.

Ready for the Kings Royal Weekend

Welcome back, right now I'm camped out at the WalMart in Celina, OH and it is 8:46pm Thursday night. Selena and I are watching the shows that we DVR'd last night when we were racing at Limaland Speedway for the Brad Doty Classic. We already watched "So You Think You Can Dance" and now were watching "Big Brother". I don't know if any of you readers out there watch "So You Think You Can Dance", but one of the male dancers "Kent" is from Wapokenta, OH (you drive right by it on I-75/US 33 on your way to Eldora).

Relaxing in Beaver Dam (cont'd)

Welcome back, I'm still camped here on Beaver Dam Lake, right now it is 9:30pm and I'm watching the Discovery Channel's "After the Catch", it comes on after the airing of "Deadliest Catch". Today was a little bit of work and a little bit of play, first it was laundry day, I did mine and Selena's laundry along side Alisha as she did her's and Justin's. It was nice spending that time with Alisha. After we got back Justin rented a pontoon boat for a few hours for all of us to go out on and tour the lake.

Relaxing in Beaver Dam, WI

Welcome back, or should I say welcome back to myself, I'm finally getting off my lazy butt and catching up with my blog. Right now it is Monday night July 5th at 10:22pm and I'm watching "Last Comic Standing" on NBC and I'm camped at Derge Park right on Beaver Dam Lake, it is a small quiet campground with 30amp electricity for $18 a night. We are all here, Eloy, Bill & Lynda, Jim & Luci, & Justin and Alisha (my oldest daughter), we are all just finally relaxing after racing and driving a bunch over the past two weeks.

Parked in York, NE

Welcome back, I know it has been over two weeks since my last blog entry, I have been busy trying to keep up with the schedule and keeping my RV and Woody running. It has been a frustrating struggle at times, but I have kept a positive outlook and I have made all my commitments so far. My last entry I wrote while sitting in the lounge at the Cummins service center in Des Moines, IA, waiting for Terry McCarl to come pick me up because they weren't going to have my RV fixed by the end of the day.
